US to launch AI and cybersecurity coordination group, White House says

WASHINGTON, July 14 : The U.S. will set up a group to coordinate information about cybersecurity vulnerabilities raised by AI systems, according to a White House statement, fulfilling U.S. President Donald Trump's order from June. Software companies, AI companies and critical infrastructure providers will use the group to communicate about vulnerabilities they identify in their systems and develop responses, according to the White House statement. Critical infrastructure refers to vital U.S. economic sectors deserving of special protection from attacks, such as banks and emergency services. Trump in a June executive order directed the Treasury Department, National Cyber Director, Department of Defense and National Security Agency to set up the collaboration.
