UN Security Council to Discuss Ukraine on Independence Day

The UN Security Council has scheduled a meeting for Monday, Aug. 24, coinciding with Ukraine’s Independence Day, to address Russia’s ongoing war. Initiated by Denmark, France, Greece, Latvia, and the UK, the session will be chaired by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. The Council will receive briefings from UN Under-Secretary-Generals Rosemary DiCarlo and Tom Fletcher.
