Ukrainian Defense Firm DEMZ to Build Ammunition Plant in Lithuania

Lithuania’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation signed an agreement with the Ukrainian defense company DEMZ to establish a new ammunition plant. The project includes a new facility in the Prienai district and an existing site in Alytus. Construction is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026, with production meeting NATO standards expected by late 2027. The ammunition will initially supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces, with plans to export to allied nations.
