Tyson Bagent didn't meet his own standard Saturday, but his value to Bears won't change
When coach Ben Johnson first was asked about the possibility the Bears might trade backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, he pretended to go into a coughing fit during the NFL Scouting Combine. He put his right hand to his mouth and let out an answer, emphatic and guttural.
‘‘No!’’ he said.
The preseason is the time when Bagent typically shows the rest of the NFL world what Johnson sees on the practice field and in meeting rooms.
