Two people inside a minivan died when they rear-ended a semi-truck Friday morning in the Far South Side's Hegewisch neighborhood. The semi was eastbound in the 2700 block of East 130th Street about 9:15 a.m., trying to make a left turn when a Dodge Grand Caravan, also eastbound, rear-ended the semi, police said. The two people, only identified as male, inside the minivan were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where they were pronounced dead, police said. No one else was hurt.
