Two children drown in Sutia river in Gazipur

12-year-olds went to the river to bathe at noon, police say 2 MIN(s) UPDATED 2 MIN(s) Illustration: STAR Two children drowned while bathing in the Sutia river in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur today.The incident occurred at around 1:00pm in Kaoraid union.The deceased were identified as Muktasim Hossain, 12, son of Ruhul Amin, and Rabbi Alam, 12, son of Rafiqul Islam. Both were residents of Bapta village in the union and were class 5 students, said Sub-inspector Bashar Mia of Sreepur Police Station.Police said the two children went to the Sutia river to bathe at noon. At one point, they drowned. On receiving the news, a team from Sreepur Police Station went to the site and recovered their bodies.
