TVK cadre’s march towards Fort St. George stopped by police in Vellore

Barricades were erected to prevent the illegal march from proceeding towards Chennai. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement An unauthorised march by a large number of cadres and supporters of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Anna Salai in front of fort complex in Vellore town on Sunday was stopped by the district police after traffic movement on the route came to a grinding halt.Police said the supporters of TVK led by Vellore district secretary Velmurugan decided to take a march from Vellore fort to Fort St. George in Chennai to highlight the 1806 Vellore Sepoy Revolt.Police said the march was also believed to emphasize that TVK founder president C.
