Turkey Commits to NATO’s PURL Fund
During the NATO summit in Ankara on July 8, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that Ankara will contribute to the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), a mechanism intended to fund US weapons for Ukraine. Previously, Turkey had stayed out of PURL, citing its role as a mediator between Moscow and Kyiv. The move leaves five NATO members still absent from the initiative.
