Trinidad Refinery Restart Gains US Backing at Pointe-a-Pierre

The United States has signalled a willingness to assist Trinidad and Tobago in identifying a partner to restart the state-owned Pointe-a-Pierre refinery, a facility shuttered since 2018. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar confirmed the offer following bilateral talks, with a clear roadmap for the project expected by the end of 2026.
