[Treasures from National Museum of Korea] Celadon Bowl with Inlaid Grape and Child Design
Period: Goryeo Kingdom Materials: Celadon Decorated with both relief and inlay techniques, this bowl represents an early form of inlaid celadon. Its interior is covered with molded designs of flowers, grapevines and children. Black slip highlights the children’s outlines and the folds of their clothing, while white slip defines their bodies. With innocent expressions, the children are depicted holding lotus blossoms or seed pods, or aiming slingshots at birds.
