Tirupati NIELIT centre to stay: Collector

Tirupati district Collector S. Venkateswar has clarified that the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) centre sanctioned to Tirupati is not being moved to Amaravati as claimed by some sources.He said: ”The NIELIT centre at Amaravati will strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s emerging leadership in quantum and Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Tirupati centre would continue to expand at its level.”The Tirupati centre was established at SV University with the approval of the Union Ministry of Electronics and IT. It became fully operational before its formal inauguration on October 2, 2025. The centre has already trained 4,308 candidates. Published - August 30, 2026 09:16 pm IST
