Tigers promote infield prospect for MLB debut before Twins series

The Detroit Tigers have made a notable roster move before their series opener against the Minnesota Twins. The AL Central club has promoted one of its top infield prospects. According to Baseball America's Emily Waldon, the Tigers have selected shortstop/third baseman John Peck's contract. Peck, 24, was a seventh-round pick out of Pepperdine in 2023. He's spent most of the season at Double-A Erie, hitting .285/.328/.511 with 10 home runs and a .839 OPS. MLB Pipeline ranks Peck as Detroit's No. 20 prospect.
