Three women survive Grand Canyon flood after clinging to rock ledge for hours
Three women survived a dangerous flash flood in the Grand Canyon. They clung to a rock ledge for five hours while debris swept past. Separated briefly, each feared the others had been lost to the waters. A rescue helicopter eventually spotted the stranded hikers and brought them to safety. This survival occurred during a larger disaster which claimed other lives.
