Three suspected poachers killed in Hanur shoot-out; probe ordered amid tension

Three suspected poachers were killed in an alleged exchange of fire with Forest Department personnel in the Chikkallur Reserved Forest area of the Cauvery Wildlife Division in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district early on Saturday.Tension prevailed in Hanur following the deaths, with angry relatives and local residents allegedly ransacking the DRFO office at Shagya in the taluk, claiming that the deceased were innocent and demanding action against the personnel involved in the shoot-out.
