Three killed as auto-rickshaw, covered van collide head-on in Gazipur

Three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a covered van in Kaliakair, Gazipur, this morning.The deceased was identified as Asadullah, 26, while the identities of the other deceased and injured could not be confirmed immediately, said Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kaliakair Police Station.The accident occurred around noon in the Chairman Bari area of Kanchanpur on the Kaliakair–Fulbaria–Mawna regional road.According to the OC, quoting witnesses, the auto-rickshaw was heading from Kaliakair towards Mawna Chowrasta in Sreepur with four passengers when it collided head-on with a covered van coming from the opposite direction.Locals rescued the injured and took them to Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declare
