Three dead, three injured in road accident

Three died, and three others were injured in a road accident on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway near Venkatapur village in Dharwad district on Monday.Manjunath, 29, Vinayak, 27, and Basavaraj, 33, from Harihar, who worked for a caterer in Dharwad, died on the spot.The driver of the SUV, Basanagouda Patil, 26, of Hosa Yallapur village; Manjappa K.R., 30, of Davangere; and Ajay Manjappa K.R., 26, were injured. They have been admitted to a hospital.The driver tried to overtake a truck, but lost control of the vehicle. Instead, the vehicle climbed the divider and rolled over.Officers from the Garag Police Station visited the spot and cleared the highway with the assistance of villagers. A case has been registered.
