Thousands expected as celebrities, festivals and events take over August

Although music expectedly leads the way, there are plenty of events focused on family entertainment, hobbies and cuisine for all ages to enjoy throughout August.‌The annual Southport Flower Show festival returns from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23, with a star studded lineup and garden experts on hand to walk guests through the weekend. Visitors can enjoy floral displays, show gardens, a shopping village, cookery demonstrations, live music and entertainment.‌The first special guest for 2026 was confirmed as BBC Gardener's World presenter Adam Frost.
