The Victorian Greater Manchester park with an ice cream parlour and waterfall everyone needs to see

But they also made very good parks and there are several examples of them right here in Greater Manchester.‌In Oldham there’s Alexandra Park, which opened in 1865 and features an impressive boating lake and ornamental shelters, something Victorian’s were fond of. Salford has Peel Park, which even hosted Queen Victoria in 1851 during a Royal visit.‌Over in Wigan is the spectacular Mesnes Park, which just might be the perfect place for a stroll on a summer’s day.
