‘The Paper’ Tries to Build on Success in Season 2 Trailer

Logo text The first season of The Paper ended with the Toledo Truth Teller winning a host of Ohio journalism awards after gung-ho editor Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) took over — and also the first kiss between Ned and reporter Mare Pritti (Chelsea Frei). The trailer for season two of the Peacock comedy suggests the show will pick up shortly after that, with Ned trying to keep the Truth Teller’s momentum going and he and Mare trying to hide their budding relationship from the rest of the staff — whose noses for a story might still need some honing. “I think it’s pretty obvious what’s happening,” Ramona Young’s Nicole says to the camera. “Mare has a new best friend.” Watch the trailer below.
