It should have been a night of celebration and socialising to bring in the New Year. But just minutes before the clock struck midnight last New Year’s Eve, a gathering in a first-floor flat in Bury became the scene of a horrific murder.It was there, in Anthony Junior Murray’s home, that he murdered his sister’s boyfriend Joe Burton. Joe was only 23 and had a young daughter. Their future together has been torn apart, and his family have been left bereft.That night has created a lifelong feeling of grief and depression and of a gaping hole within the family.
