The Mets could trade Francisco Lindor, but fans keep forgetting one thing
The biggest question the New York Mets have to answer over the next few months is what they want to do in the offseason. The Mets, unfortunately, just haven't been a good enough team to suggest that they should keep this current core intact. That doesn't mean it's all Juan Soto's and Francisco Lindor's fault, but frankly, the Mets have been really bad, and at some point, one of those guys is going to get the blame. The likeliest outcome here is that Lindor gets most of the blame. Soto is on too long of a contract to really move on from, and he's simply too good to do so, but it brings up some interesting questions about what might happen with Lindor.
