It's an award-winning park for a number of reasons10:04, 11 Aug 2026A 42-acre Rochdale park which has a Green Flag award to its name for being clean and well-run has been suggested as a perfect summer holiday visit for its miniature railway, play area and lake.‌Springfield Park, on Bolton Road, is Rochdale’s largest park and features a host of things to keep the family occupied during the warmer months. It first opened in 1927 having been built on the former site of a 13th-century abbey.‌The park is home to a range of sports facilities, including tennis courts, an athletics track, an outdoor gym and an 18-hole golf course, as well as also being popular with walkers for its trails which showcase its landscape and wooded slopes that head down to the nearby Roch Valley nature site.‌Click here
