The Chiles en Nogada Origin Story Historians No Longer Accept

Augustinian nuns are said to have invented chiles en nogada for Agustín de Iturbide in 1821. Historians, INAH researchers and the convent museum credited with it all reject the story. A 1714 manuscript records stuffed chiles in white walnut sauce a century earlier.
