Taiwan, SVG celebrate 45 years of ties

Taiwan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) marked the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations at a reception in Taipei yesterday, where leaders of the two countries pledged to deepen cooperation in the years ahead.“In many other ways you may know, our relationship has grown stronger over those 45 years,” Vincentian Prime Minister Godwin Friday said in an address at the reception.“It has evolved from one of the formality of establishing diplomatic relations to engaging in technical missions, to fostering stronger economic ties that involve the private and public sectors, and to massively expanding educational opportunities,” he said.
