Sutton Coldfield police probe live after 'serious' incident sparks major cordons

A key route in Sutton Coldfield has been blocked off by police after an incident, it has been revealed.Chester Road, opposite Oscott College, is currently sealed off and motorists are being turned away while investigations are ongoing.There is an inner police cordon around a row of shops where the incident is said to have taken place overnight (August 7).Our reporter has confirmed two police cars and a police van are at the College Road end of the cordon, which is at the start of the shops at New Oscott and the area known as Beggars Bush, named after the pub.It is not known what the incident is, but West Midlands Police has been contacted.This is a live blog and will be updated below
