NewsCost Of LivingDWPOlder people can boost your rate10:19, 05 Aug 2026Updated 10:19, 05 Aug 2026State pensioners can boost their pay by £38 a week - by upgrading their Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Attendance Allowance rate. Attendance Allowance is paid weekly at 2 different rates - the one you get depends on the level of help you need.‌Attendance Allowance is not means-tested - what you earn or how much you have in savings will not affect what you get. The lower rate of £76 is £38 lower than the higher rate of £114.‌The lower rate is for "frequent help or constant supervision during the day, or supervision at night," while the higher is for claimants who need "help or supervision throughout both day and night, or a medical professional has said you’re nearing the end of life".‌R
