Smashed glass, metal bars and 'petrifying' scenes in Smithdown Road street fight

Police cordoned off two shops on the road following the incident, which has been confirmed to have involved a group of males.‌The ECHO was at the scene and spoke to a shop worker on Smithdown Road who said she heard the "sound of glass smashing" around the time the fight broke out. She believed the fight, which police have since confirmed began at around 12.45pm, started when a man threw a glass at a construction worker above the Liverpool 15 convenience store on Smithdown Road.‌She said the experience had been "petrifying", adding that a man had entered multiple shops on Smithdown Road that morning to shout at and harass staff
