Six-year-old girl dies after falling under lorry in Balanagar

A six-year-old girl was killed after she fell from a motorcycle and came under the rear wheels of a lorry at Padmanagar Phase I in Balanagar on Sunday afternoon.The victim, identified as Veda Sree, was travelling on a motorcycle with her uncle when the accident occurred.According to the police, the lorry driver allegedly attempted to overtake the motorcycle while an autorickshaw was approaching from the opposite direction. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the motorcycle hit the autorickshaw, causing the girl to fall onto the road. She was then run over by the rear wheels of the lorry and died on the spot.On receiving information, the Balanagar police rushed to the scene and shifted the body to a mortuary for postmortem examination.
