Site of former church in Salford to be turned into 40 ‘truly affordable’ homes

Previously the site of St Matthews off Worsley Road, the ‘underutilised’ land will be transformed into two apartment blocks to help meet Salford’s desperate need for social housing.‌Plans submitted by Lancet Homes were approved by the council’s planning office last week, meaning construction can now start.‌The £8m scheme includes two four-storey buildings with 25 one-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom flats.
