Siddipet court imposes fines worth ₹5.71 lakh on 74 motorists for traffic violations

A court in Siddipet has imposed fines totalling ₹5.71 lakh on 74 motorists for violations like drunk driving and driving without a licence following a special enforcement drive by the traffic police.According to the Siddipet Traffic Police, inspections carried out over the past five days resulted in 40 motorists being booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and 34 others for driving without a valid driving licence.The offenders were produced before the Siddipet Special Second Class Judicial Magistrate, Kantharao, who imposed fines amounting to ₹4,05,500 on 40 drunk driving offenders and ₹1,65,500 on 34 motorists found driving without a licence.Traffic Inspector Chettukrindi Muthyam Raju said drunk driving endangers not only the driver’s life but also the lives of other road users
