'Shock' and sadness as Levenshulme murder investigation launched after 24-year-old stabbed to death

A 24-year-old man died at the scene in Levenshulme15:34, 16 Aug 2026Detectives have made a murder arrest after a 24-year-old man was stabbed to death in Levenshulme.A 27-year-old man has been held on suspicion of murder following the incident on Chapel Street last night (August 15). A forensic tent was erected within Chapel Street park, and the park has remained close to the public today.A resident told the Manchester Evening News that people were performing CPR on the deceased in the park before he passed away. Earlier today, Greater Manchester Police confirmed a murder investigation has been launched.
