Several students, two teachers injured as lorry rams into school autorickshaw in Medak

Several school students and two teachers suffered injuries after a lorry rammed into an overloaded school autorickshaw on a highway near Ramayampet in Medak district on Monday evening.The accident occurred at around 4.25 p.m. when the autorickshaw was ferrying Kasturba School students to their homes in villages including Nimzampet and Nangidama. Police said the lorry, bearing registration number AP 24 TA 7776, allegedly hit the auto from behind, causing it to crash into a roadside railing.There were 17 occupants in the autorickshaw, including students, teachers and the driver. Police said the vehicle was overloaded, as it was permitted to carry only four persons, including the driver.All the injured were shifted to Siddipet Government Hospital for treatment.
