Originally scheduled for a 5:35 p.m. Central first pitch, fans were informed via a scoreboard message that a conversation between Major League Baseball and the National Weather Service led to the decision to start the game in a weather delay. The Cubs sat through multiple delays during their weekend series with the Cardinals, including one caused by fog blanketing Wrigley Field on Saturday.
