'Sentence me to death': Latif Siddique says after court bars him from speaking

Former minister Abdul Latif Siddique today told the International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) that he wanted the court to sentence him to death after being denied permission to address it in a crimes against humanity case over the May 5, 2013 Shapla Chattar crackdown.“Sentence me to death,” Latif said as he was being escorted from the dock to the holding cell following the hearing.The remark came after the tribunal showed him arrested in the case and ordered that he be sent to jail. The three-member tribunal, led by Justice Nozrul Islam Chowdhury, passed the order after the prosecution petitioned to show him arrested. Latif was produced before the tribunal in line with an earlier order.During the hearing, Latif sought permission to address the tribunal but was not allowed to speak.Detectives
