Senior Maoist leader Samatha alias Madhavi surrenders before police
MULUGUSenior Maoist leader Kakarla Samatha alias Madhavi surrendered before the Telangana police after remaining underground for more than four decades and holding key positions in various committees of the outlawed organisation across different States. Samatha had worked as a Central Committee staff member with former CPI (Maoist) general secretary Muppala Lakshmana Rao alias Ganapathi and played a key role in preparing party documents and literature on its ideology.According to the police, she joined the then outlawed CPI-ML People’s War Group (PWG) as an underground naxal cadre in 1985 in the Visakhapatnam Agency area and remained underground since then.
