Senate amends antihospital detention law

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate on Monday approved on third and final reading a bill that aims to strengthen the protection of patients and their relatives by preventing their detention in hospitals and medical facilities over unpaid bills or medical expenses. A total of 18 senators voted in favor of Senate Bill (SB) No. 1511,
