Emergency services were called to the popular park in south Liverpool around 12.46pm following reports of a blaze.‌Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene within minutes, where firefighters found grassland and bushes on fire. The fire service said: "Crews extinguished the fire and utilised two hose reel jets to dampen down and hotspot the area."‌It said a small disposable BBQ left unattended set nearby bushes and grass alight.
