Section of Bootle road closed after spillage

Crosby Road South in Bootle, which connects Bootle to Waterloo and Crosby, was shut from the Princess Way roundabout to Church Road.‌The A5036 Princess Way entry slip road was also closed. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said officers were called to the scene at 6.40am due to a broken down vehicle and a large spillage of hydraulic fluid. Road closures were in place to assist with cleaning and recovery.‌Pictures seen by the ECHO show several police cars at the scene, with the vehicle involved appearing to be a small lorry.
