Second case of Bluetongue confirms in south-west Scotland

LIVESTOCK disease bluetongue has been detected on a second farm in south-west Scotland, according to the chief veterinary officer.  On Saturday, a lamb at Kirkambreck Farm near Newton Stewart, in Dumfries and Galloway, was found to be infected with bluetongue serotype 3 (BTV-3). Now, two sheep at a separate farm have also been found to be carrying the infection. All three animals have since been put down.
