Seaside town near Glasgow named 'best for retirement' in Scotland
For the Daily Record's latest Town of the Week, we are journeying to a sea port that is a short distance from Scotland's largest city. It was recently crowned one of the "best retirement towns" in the UK, being praised for its golfing opportunities and its gorgeous coastal walks. As previously reported by the Daily Record, Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire was named as one of the best places to retire in the UK by WorldAtlas. The only other Scottish location to appear on the experts' list of the eight "best retirement towns" was Troon in South Ayrshire. Located just over 30 miles from the centre of Glasgow, Troon is best known for its lovely sandy beach that looks out towards the Isle of Arran.
