On Tuesday, July 28, WorldAtlas shared a list of the most picturesque small settlements in the country, with 10 locations singled out by the experts. These include destinations from the Scottish Borders to the Inner Hebrides.‌One of the towns in Scotland named among the prettiest in the country is Wigtown in Dumfries and Galloway, around seven miles from Newton Stewart on the Machars peninsula. The town and former royal burgh has a large array of cafes and independent shops to visit, as well as walking trails with views of the Galloway Hills and Wigtown Bay.‌Wigtown is known as 'Scotland’s National Book Town', with the number of books in the town said to outnumbe
