Researchers from China have created a groundbreaking living textile using Cordyceps militaris, a type of fungus. This material possesses remarkable self-repair abilities, capable of mending its own cuts while generating new surface layers. It incorporates engineered yeast for vibrant natural colors. A prototype dress showcasing these features was produced, and notably, this innovative fabric biodegrades entirely in just forty-one days.
