Ukrainian science has suffered colossal damage from Russia’s war, not least the attack on the historic Palladin Institute in Kyiv. Over 10,000 scientists have been displaced or killed, and some 1,400 research buildings hit, yet Ukraine’s scientific community remains resilient, rooted in a rich legacy and driven today by talented young researchers. Rebuilding will be vital, requiring global support and deeper international collaboration, and Ukrainian science shall emerge stronger.
