Scattered showers and storms on the way to Chicago area

A storm system making its way to the Chicago area is expected to bring scattered showers and thunderstorms by this evening, forecasters say. Humid, cloudy and warm conditions will change into showers this afternoon and evening and continue into early Thursday, said National Weather Service meteorologist Kevin Doom, who added there are no active watches or warnings in effect.
