SC ruling affirms Senate’s sole role in Sara Duterte impeachment

MANILA, Philippines — The Supreme Court’s dismissal of Vice President Sara Duterte’s petition seeking to nullify the House of Representatives’ impeachment proceedings against her confirmed that the House has already finished its role and that the Senate impeachment court now has sole authority over the trial, Senate impeachment court spokesperson Atty. Regie Tongol said Thursday.
