Sanctioned Russian Shadow Fleet Tanker Spills Oil Near Oman Coast

Satellite imagery indicates that the Caroline Bezengi, a sanctioned Russian shadow fleet tanker, is spilling oil in a marine conservation area off the coast of Oman. The vessel, which loaded oil in Novorossiysk, last transmitted its position on June 11. The environmental incident coincides with Ukraine’s ongoing “Operation Molochka,” which aims to disable Russia’s shadow fleet in the Black and Azov Seas without causing ecological damage.
