Russian Attack Kills 2 in Donetsk Region

A Russian attack on the settlement of Sofiivka in the Donetsk region’s Kramatorsk community killed two people and injured two others, the State Emergency Service reported on Aug. 23. The strike damaged 141 private homes and sparked multiple fires. Rescuers recovered one body from the rubble but were forced to suspend firefighting efforts due to the threat of repeated shelling.
