Russia strips rights of citizens abroad in sweeping new 'traitor' law
The Duma approved measures that freeze accounts, seize property and block consular services including passport renewal for Russians abroad who are evading charges at home. Lawyers said the law meant "de facto loss of citizenship," with political activists and journalists among those most at risk.
