Royals acquire 3.08 ERA ex-Mariners pitcher in All-Star break trade with Brewers

The Kansas City Royals and Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a trade on Tuesday afternoon. While most of the baseball world's attention is on tonight's All-Star Game, the Royals have added a reliever with 26.1 Major League innings under his belt. Today, Kansas City announced that it acquired right-hander Easton McGee from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash. McGee, 28, has played for three organizations in parts of four seasons in the Majors. In 2026 with the Brewers, he has not allowed a run and just one hit in two innings. McGee has struck out and walked one batter. "This is his final minor league option year. The Royals can shuttle him freely between Kansas City and Omaha for the remainder of the season, but he’ll be out of minor league options heading into the 2027 campaign," Steve Ad
