Reva Gudi: No ID is required for NHS care, but GP receptionists should not be immigration officials

NHS care may be free at the point of use, but it is never free to provide. This is not an argument about immigration. It is about entitlement, fairness and responsible stewardship of a finite resource. The NHS has a responsibility towards its patients and is accountable to the taxpayer. It must stay true to both.
